ACRIB - Air
Conditioning and Refigeration Industry Board
ACRIB currently manages a voluntary register of personnel qualified
as Safe Refrigerant Handlers. Any individual who handles

approved refrigerant handling competence assessment.
REFCOM - F-Gas Certified
ACRIB F-Gas Implementation Group is taking a lead on working with UK
Government on the implementation of the European Fluorinated Gases
Regulation which came into force on 4th July 2007. It introduced new
requirements for leak checking procedures, labelling of new
equipment, reporting of production and training and certification of
individuals and companies. The UK has developed new refrigeration
handling assessments based which are delivered by City & Guilds and CITB aproved centres. Anyone who did not have an "interim"
certificate at the time the legislation came into force on 9th March
2009 and is valid until 9th July 2011, must now hold one of the new
F Gas Qualifications.
